We have fibreglass scaffold towers for hire nationwide. Our glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) access towers provide a safe and secure means of access for working at a height at home and on site. As GRP towers are made from fibreglass, they are non-corrosive and non-conductive, so they are ideal for use when repairing or installing electrical equipment. We have a huge range of different fibreglass scaffold towers, in different heights, and widths and with different sized platforms. These self-build access towers are available in ‘standard’ with (1.45m) or ‘narrow’ width (0.85m), with a choice of either a 2.5 metre or 1.8-metre platform. This flexibility gives you the option of having a tower with plenty of space for workers and equipment when you are working in areas with lots of space; or a tower that is compact and convenient enough to use in areas with less space available. These GRP access towers can be assembled quickly and easily. Safety toe boards, stabilisers and adjustable locking castors are also provided with these fibreglass towers, ensuring a convenient and practical solution to your access problems, without compromising safety and security.
What is a GRP tower?
‘GRP’ stands for ‘glass-fibre reinforced plastic’ i.e. fibreglass. GRP towers are non-corrosive and non-conductive, so they are safe for use when working at a height on electrical installations and repairs.
What is the difference between 'Standard' and 'Narrow' width scaffold towers?
Our ‘standard width’ scaffold towers are 1.45m wide. This gives you plenty of space for workers and tools. Our ‘narrow width’ scaffold towers are 0.85m wide – they are designed for giving access in areas with restricted amounts of space in which to work.
What working platform sizes are available with the fibreglass scaffold towers?
You can select a 1.8m deck or a 2.5m working platform.
What is 'Working Height'?
‘Working height’ is a standard term which refers to the height at which you can safely work using a piece of access equipment. The heights of our scaffold access towers are measured up to their top handrails. The working height is 1 metre above the top handrail – as you can reach up and safely work on something overhead at a height of 1m above the handrail. Therefore the ‘working height’ of our towers is 1 metre above the stated height of the tower. (e.g. if you need to hire a scaffold tower with a working height of 6.2m, then you need to select a 5.2m scaffold tower).
Do I need a ladder to get to the top of the tower?
No. All of our scaffold towers have their own ladder system integrated into their design which allows safe access to the working platform.
Do I need to hire anything else with a GRP scaffold tower?
No. Our scaffold towers come supplied as complete kits with the poles, safety toe boards, locking castors, stabilisers and working platform. However, if you plan to carry tools and equipment up to the top of the scaffold tower, we recommend that you hire a pulley system or a hoist. Carrying tools up the tower with you is dangerous – you need both hands free to ascend the ladder system safely. It is best to use a hoist or pulley system to lift tools to the top of the tower, once you are already on the working platform. Though, you can use a tool belt to carry small hand tools to the top of the tower.
Can I collect the GRP scaffold tower from store?
Yes you can. Simply book a hire in advance over the phone or online and you can collect the scaffold tower from your nearest store at the start of the hire. Although you would need suitable transport, as our GRP scaffold tower kits would not fit into a car. Our Hire Team would be able to recommend if your transport would be suitable for transporting a tower.
Can you deliver the scaffold tower to my home or work site?
Yes we can. We can deliver to most areas in the UK mainland – to your home, office or work site.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.
If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.
YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.
If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
